Installing fedora and mint boot problems

I had mint 17.1 on my computer, but I decided to just wipe the hard drive and start over from the beginning.

I have a seperate boot partition, a partition for fedora 21 64 bit, a partition for mint17.1 32 bit, a home partition and a swap partition.

I installed fedora first, but when I installed mint, neither system would boot. So I tried installing in the opposite order, and neither system would boot again.

Don't fedora and mint use grub? I had installed fedora before I wiped the hard drive with no issue. It booted fedora, mint, and lfs with no issue...

What do I have to do to get them both to boot?

Are you trying to use the same /boot directory for both Fedora and Mint? I don't think that will work.

I overwrote the /boot partition with the second install. The first time around, i did the same thing and all os options showed up in the boot menu

I am not sure what happened... i shut down my computer and closed the screen before it was done shutting down. It must have tried hibernating and shutting down at the same time. I reinstalled fedora 21 from my live usb. The first time around, the kernel used was 3.17, this time around kernel 3.18 was used and i can boot into both fedora and mint 17.1 with no problems now. So I am not sure what the actual problem was, but I guess it is solved now.
