Installing fedora 8 via http

Hi folks,

I'm trying to install fedora 8 on one of my machines (which are networked through router) via http and it doesn't seem to work. I've copied fedora 8 DVD files to a directory called 'fedora8' in /var/www/html/ and started 'httpd', shutdown 'iptables' and SELinux isn't complaining. Assigning IP addresses is handled by router (although the machine running httpd has a static IP address from the same pool range used by router).

Now, I boot the machine using F8 rescue CD, choose 'install or upgrade in graphical mode',... and then get to choose the installation medium: CD/DVD, NFS, FTP, HTTP,....

I choose HTTP and leave it for IP address to get assigned automatically, which goes well. Then I get to the point where I'm supposed to denote Server name (from which to install), where I denote server IP; and denote Fedora 8 install directory - I've only entered '/fedora8' (which is the name of directory containing the files.

From that point, I'm offered with checking media checksum... where I get the message that media doesn't have one... and gets me back to the screen where I'm supposed to denote server name and Fedora 8 install directory...
It goes like this in loops whatever I try to do...

What am I doing wrong? Is there something I've missed, or is there some particular action to be done on server side in order for this kind of installation to work?

Thanks upfront.

If you have internet access, you could do a net-installation (with either a windows .exe or the .rpm file) using unetbootin

Solved the problem...

The installation won't kick off using rescue CD (which is supposed to work with F7, according to http://fedorasolved.org/)

I've made the installation begin by burning boot.iso file from F8 DVD to a CDRW, and booted the system using that disc.
