? is your bios set to boot from a usb FIRST ?
or the cd /dvd first ?
also if there is a 3.5 floppy in it -- how old is the computer ?
My 2001 dell is unable to use fedora 10 because of the OLD network card .

No, it doesn't boot from a USB device at all. I just copied the directories from it to the CD. The computer has been upgraded several times by me. It was originally released in late 2000. Fortunately, it has 6 times the original memory amount, though the hard drive is older because the one it came with went bad. The video card is five years newer, and a network card didn't come with it, so I plopped in a 2003 Realtek card. The sound card is the original. Anything else important I missed?

You cannot just copy the files. You need to burn the iso as an image.

Actually, I'll boot from my USB device on a different computer that can boot from them, then use PXE.
