HOWTO enable power management

I am new to linux. I have installed fedora distribution 2.6.16-1.2080_FC5 and all its patches. I am facing a problem that the fan on my processor runs always and makes a lot of noise. I got the following with the command
cat /proc/acpi/processor/CPU0/info
processor id: 0
acpi id: 0
bus mastering control: yes
power management: no
throttling control: yes
limit interface: yes

Can anyone please let me know how i can enable power management in the fedora core.

First you need to make sure power management is enable in your BIOS. So right when you turn on your computer enter setup and check to make sure it is enabled.
THen in FC5 if you are using gnome you should be able to look at System>Preferences>More Preferences>Power Management

(Is the what you wanted to know?)
