how can I disable konqueror from starting every time I insert a DVD or CD?
Ok - I've, for the most part, completed a Fedora Core 4 system (AMD - x86_64) running mythtv on kde (no gnome). I've only got one last glitch before I can really enjoy this. The problem I'm having is that every time I am in mythtv and I insert a DVD or CD, konqueror automatically starts up in front of the movie and I have to pull out the keyboard and mouse to exit the program. I can't seem to find the preferences for disabling auto startup of konqueror or whatever is triggering this. Would anyone know how to disable this autostart feature so nothing starts up? I tried to disable autofs but that seemed to only work until myth mounted the DVD and then konqueror opened up again.
It varies a little from distro to distro but you are looking for peripherals then storage media. A window should pop up and you should see KDE Control Module. There should be a tab that says Notifications. It should look familiar because it looks like the box that pops up. Select Do Nothing and hit Apply. You may also want to click the advanced button and uncheck medium autodtart then hit apply.
I cannot seem to find what you are referring to. When I place a CD or DVD into the drive, what appears is a new window which at the top says "cdrecorder - Konqueror" I've gone through all the settings and cannot find any tabs for "notifications". I've also tried right clicking on the desktop and selecting "configure desktop" to which I cannot find any tabs and nothing on the left bar says "notifications".
How can I open the window up that you are referring to?
Fedora is different but there should be a thing in the KDE menu that looks like a wrench. Mine is actually seperate and in the task bar but it should be in the KDE. Click the K thing and look for settings. It should start to look similiar to what I posted.

I too can't find what you refer to.
I opened the KDE Control Center (Alt-F2, "kcontrol" as a last resort),
opened "Peripherals",
& find nothing to do w/ "storage media",
is this something new?
