help with a possible solution to a FC3 sound problem
It appears many people running FC3 is having problems with their sound. I am no different. It worked perfectly under MDK10.1 but upon installation of FC3, the sound worked at first start up but stopped shortly thereafter.
In the meantime, i have discovered a temporary workaround. If I start the GStreamer Preferences (under Preferences -> More Preferences -> Multimedia Systems Selector) and click Test under Default Source (with ALSA - Advanced Linux Sound Architecture set as the Input and alsasrc as the Pipeline), the sound suddenly works as long as GStreamer window stays open, even though i get an error message saying "Failed to construct test pipeline for 'ALSA-Advanced Linux Sound Architecture'". The sound is a little distorted and low quality, but it's better that nothing.
So my question is.. is anyone familiar with the program and what it actually does when the default source is tested that allows the sound to work? And if so, how to get the sound to work without running the preferences?
