There use to be bittorrent for it. I tried downloading it and never managed to get it complete after waiting for a few weeks. The BT link has been removed from the Fedora page as well, guess they found out it was dead. Anyone with some bandwidth to spare willing to host it?
I picked up a heavily discounted copy of "Fedora for Dummies" some months ago. It comes with the full distro (FC1) on DVD and list price before the discount is only USD 29.99. For me, it always helps to have a simple reference manual (the book!) around when I want a quick answer for something.
If you know someone who reads Linux Format from the UK, the Jan "04 issue came with a bootable FC 1 dvd distro. Thats how I got mine. Worked great, no need to pay attention to changing cds. Probably in the next month or two, they'll have an FC 2 dvd coverdisc.
They have , I installed fc2 from the dvd. All went well exept I could not get the dvd to boot. I had to make a boot cd using a file on the dvd boot.iso. I wonder is it possible to boot from a dvd directly.
It is possible to boot from the dvd, although some computers when they boot up don't wait long enough for the dvd to be"seen" , the cd gets noticed much quicker than dvds, so your computer may think the drive is empty. If you have a floppy drive you can make a copy of Smart Boot Manager, put it in, then try to boot the dvd.
Just for info I managed to make a bootable dvd by burning the file they supply boot.iso onto a dvd+rw by
growisofs -Z /dev/cdrom=boot.iso
I shall try to burn the Fedora folder onto it and I may then have an "all in one" booter.
After getting it to boot installation was a breeze. Its just booting from the dvd from the mag did not work.
