As dowloaded from the Idaho U. server, just extract the iso, burn and enjoy.

//moderator.note: I merged your posts and removed the pointers. While this downloading from freehosters is good for things you want to share on a personal level, it is not standard operating procedure for downloading offical copies of operating systems or software. One should get offical copies of operating systems from the vendor or trustworthy mirrors.

What's wrong with using http://fedoraproject.org/en/get-fedora since they are the offical CD and DVD downloads?

Yes, I appreciate the effort to be helpful, but I don't think I would trust an install image with a .rar extension.

when you join the rar files you get the same ISO as the one downloaded from the official sources.

Rapidshare is faster and it was meant to take some load off the official ftp/http servers. Not much success so I don't think I'm doing this for other releases.

Why not keep the rapidshare links for those who benefit from them. I've downloaded the 3.3 GB DVD from official mirrros at 16 KByte/s donwload rate ! only to find out that it had different check sum !!! I have a rapidshare premium account so the rapidshare option is my only rescue.

Must admit I only use the mirrors, but what's the exposure ???
Fedora publish the SHA1SUM, protected by a gpg key. If the resultant iso passes, I'd be happy to use it.

I want to repost rafitas links. I donwloaded them AND found that the ISO file inside the rars has the exact SHA1SUM as that diplayed on the official Fedora mirrors. I even installed Fedora 9 from it without problems.

I recommand the freeware download manager FlashGet. With it you can easily insert many links at the same time.
