Fedora 10 to 11 upgrade broke my laptop's wi-fi
I have a Dell Latitude D620 (Intel 3945 wi-fi adapter) on which I was running Fedora 10 just fine, and (after the proper configuration) NetworkManager was able to connect to the wireless networks at home and work once I logged in with no intervention from me. But then I upgraded to F11, and NetworkManager seems to have problems. The NetworkManager applet tries to connect for a while, then pops up the Connection Information window, saying it couldn't connect. I tried re-entering the information, but that doesn't change anything.
I have discovered a workaround, but I would prefer not to have to do this every time. If I do this:
# rmmod iwl3945; rmmod mac80211; rmmod lib80211; rmmod cfg80211; killall dhclient; modprobe iwl3945; service NetworkManager restart
or some combination thereof (I'm still experimenting), NetworkManager will eventually connect. I don't know why. So I have a temporary workaround, but I'm still trying to figure out what's really wrong. I'm just posting here to see if anybody else had similar problems with F11.
