Check to make sure that the repo url is correct in the config and see if you can access the repo from firefox (it should show up like an ftp dir). If not then it's a global problem, most likely w/ipv6 as has been suggested before.

Gryyphyn, out.

I can get to the url in firefox. Unless there is another ipv6 module i have disabled it as the like described. ipv6 will not load any more. I blacklisted it and I added
install ipv6 /bin/true

I had a similar problem (with yum)...I had to disable SELinux...

What is the output of:

Code:
root@fedora# getenforce

Ok...try this...

First edit /etc/sysconfig/selinux

Code:
root@fedora# vi /etc/sysconfig/selinux
In the file change the SELINUX=enforcing to SELINUX=disabled. I noted the change in bold below...

Code:
# This file controls the state of SELinux on the system.
# SELINUX= can take one of these three values:
# enforcing - SELinux security policy is enforced.
# permissive - SELinux prints warnings instead of enforcing.
# disabled - SELinux is fully disabled.
SELINUX=disabled
# SELINUXTYPE= type of policy in use. Possible values are:
# targeted - Only targeted network daemons are protected.
# strict - Full SELinux protection.
SELINUXTYPE=targeted
Now initiate an "autorelabel" on reboot....then reboot.

Code:
root@fedora# touch /.autorelabel && reboot
Now try the yum command and see if you are getting the same error...

-C

It would be far better to just test with SELinux in permissive mode rather than turning it off completely don't you think?

Why do you relabel on reboot when you've turned SELinux off btw?

As root,

#setenforce 0

tor turn off. Test yum

#setenforce 1

to turn back on.

I only use SELinux on my servers...why bother having it turned on when I'm on my desktop? It just gets in the way...

Just my opinion...

BTW...I relabel because I had problems once (turning it off)...it may just be psycho schematic now...but better to be safe than sorry...

I have recently removed selinux (I too think it just gets in the way while trying to debug my system) but still same problem.
