Ethernet Issue

Hello all, I have just installed Fedora onto my Laptop and I am having an issue with the ethernet device. Now I have the correct module for my ethernet device installed and I have also checked my /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 and have correct settings for stardard DHCP device, yet I am still unable to recieve an IP. I have recompiled my kernel in case the Fedora kernel may have missed something, anyway this is getting rather frustrating and would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks again.

maybe u can try set to static IP first just to test it out, or maybe run mii-tools command.

Even after I have set my IP to static, as I thought, I still have no internet connect. Any other thoughts?
