eth0 device defaulting to inet6 rather than inet?

sup guys, running a 3c905 driver with my nic card (proper)

but when running ifconfig -a it's showing inet6 addr rather than an inet addr which i t hought was supposed to be the default, how do i switch the device to use inet rather than inet6?

this i think is the problem why network/internet is not functioning correctly with this card

Using 3com 3c905 based card with the 3c95x driver, ifconfig -a is showing inet6 when it should be inet family which is default, so i thought. anyone know how to correct this issue so my eth0 is put in the right family?

i've tried ip, some ifconfig settings but was not able to resolve this
