Dell 7500 & MN-520

i'm new to Linux and isntalled Fedora on my laptop as a platform to play with the OS and see what types of things that I could learn from it. I have had problem of things not working from install.

I STILL cant get my MN-520 working even though it recognizes the card... I am doing manual IP Setting and Manual DNS setting. I havent tried to take the WEP key off my Router yet, an MN-700. I'm wondering if its possible that the WEP encryp. doesnt work on Fedora?

My other issue has been the touchpad not having the double tap ability. I read through the Synaptic driver install but I'm getting an error when i do the MAKE. I doesnt want to compile the driver. If someone can explain what i'm doing wrong there I think I can handle the rest between the posts on the forum and the README in the driver package.

Also.... I'm not sure that my modem is working....is there somewhere that woudl list if Fedora found the internal modem on install?

Thanks for your help!

Hunter

http://wwwhsse.fh-hagenberg.at/Studi...2006/inspiron/ - this contains an explanation on setting up the touchpad.

As far as your modem goes - can we have the specs please.
Also any error messages you are receiving.

Well I tired this...

I installed the MN-520 last nite and removed the WEP code on my router... I did Managed and also tried AUTO. I tried with and without setting the IP and DNS and Gateway.

What irritates me at this point is that the OS actually DETECTS the damn card... So its almost like the settings are wrong, but when i restart the laptop, the MN-520 designation in the network settings turns into a Orinco.CS or something like that... Being new to Linux i'm not sure what to do next to get this wireless working.

Any Ideas?
