Another interesting error:
[root@localhost root]# modprobe acx100_pci
/lib/modules/2.4.22-10mdk/kernel/drivers/net/acx100_pci.o: init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
modprobe: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.22-10mdk/kernel/drivers/net/acx100_pci.o failed
modprobe: insmod acx100_pci failed

Does this mean I need to recompile the driver?

I have a DWL-650+ working with Mandrake 9.2. It sounds like you do not have the kernel source installed.

In Mandrake 9.2 the driver is located at /lib/modules/2.4.22-10mdk/kernel/drivers/3rdparty/acx100

As you probably have read there is an older version of the acx100 driver included in Mandrake 9.2.

What I have done is compile my own driver and replace the one included in Mandrake 9.2 with the one I compiled. Once you have done that you can run harddrake and configure the module, then you can run the network setup tool which will create every thing you need. Then edit the ifcfg-eth0 file to add RATE, KEY, ESSID.

I can get it to ping the router now, but cannot get it to access or ping sites...

What do I need to fix?

Try this command as root "route add default gw 192.168.X.X eth0" no quotes, where the IP address is that of you router.

Also, check the file /etc/resolv.conf you may need to add the following line "nameserver 192.168.x.x" where the IP address is that of your router.

You may also double check your KEY and ESSID, the ESSID is case sensitive. If you are not using encryption you do not need that entry also you do not need the essid entered for it to work.
