I'm using Debian 'Testing' but webmin does not seem to be available with 'aptitude search' (Anyone knows why?). Is there a way to install webmin without installing from source files?
I was once forced to build some packages using webmin binaries in a class. What a buggy nasty thing it was. Swore I'd never have it on my machine. There are people who swear by it, tho. I guess if you get it stable and never upgrade anything, it works good.
It's not there in testing at the moment, but since the packages are already installed on my system, I'm lucky I guess. Sooner or later though it'll be back.
Not sure if I would call having webmin installed "Lucky"
Why not? I find it useful in some areas. For instance, I use the MySQL admin module frequently. It's very useful as a database creation tool. I also use it minimally to configure a few things, but I don't tinker around with system settings using it.
