usplash development on Etch

I've recently read a bit more about usplash, and found development is harder than I first thought.

I have knowledge in C etc, so can handle the requirements of making a usplash theme (I think anyways).

However, I'm just wondering how I could get the development header files, and development package in general for Etch. I've googled and googled, but came up empty.

My idea is to make a BSOD (Windows blue screen of death) usplash theme, just for a joke. Will probably make some more serious themes later on.

Thanks for your time,

Thanks!

Thanks very much makuyl!

I'll check out how to compile it with that, hopefully it's what I'm looking for. Sadly however, usplash-theme-debian's source isn't available via apt-get source, oh well.
