I am new to this. I have my computer set up the way I want and now I have one final thing to do for the appearance. I want to custom create my own Usplash theme. I have everything I needed installed, I believe. I have the png image set at 256 indexed, 800x600. It is a simple black image with white text, a test image.

I am using Ubuntu 7.04 and following these instructions from,

Custom Edgy Usplash


step 1

cp test.png usplash-artwork.png (this creates a usplash-artwork.png)

step 2

pngtobogl usplash-artwork.png > usplash-artwork.c (this creates a usplash-artwork.c)

step 3 (followed by the error message,)

gcc -Os -g -I /usr/include/bogl -fPIC -c usplash-artwork.c -o usplash-artwork.o

usplash-artwork.c:1: error: expected ‘=’, ‘,’, ‘;’, ‘asm’ or ‘__attribute__’ before ‘has’


Step 4, once I get to it,

gcc -shared -Wl,-soname,usplash-artwork.so usplash-artwork.o -o test-splash.so


I also have a usplash-artwork.c:1: file that was created


What am I missing or doing wrong on this?
