using saved Knoppix settings

If I save the Knoppix settings to my HD, will it automatically know where to get them the next time I run the CD? Or do it need to tell it to access them with some command?

Knoppix finds my settings, but I followed its defaults when asking it to save.
Slightly annoying, but understandable, is that knoppix will by default NOT use your saved info once it finds it. It will ask you if you want to use the saved stuff and you'll have about 5 seconds to answer it - if you don't answer, it won't pick up the saved stuff. This is a security feature. You can avoid this by telling knoppix to get the saved profile when it boots, but this involves even more effort, and I don't know if there's a way of making it automatic. Try it, you'll see what I mean.

I stored my personal settings on a USB memory stick. At the boot menu, I type:

knoppix myconfig=/dev/sda1

to enable it to find the files. I assume it would be the same command, but different device/filepath if you had saved it in a (non-standard) place on the hard-drive.

Knoppix does not by default scan for config files... you need to tell it where or at least to scan for...

boot: knoppix myconfig=scan
or
boot: knoppix myconfig=/dev/hda

if you saved it on a windows partition. look for the location of knoppix.sh. but scan should find it. only if you have more then one config would you need to specify the whole path.
