Having a little trouble installing tripwire 2.3.1-2. I have changed my config file "install.cfg" appropriately but when I ran 'install.sh' it gives me:
Verifying existence of binaries...
./bin/i686-pc-linux_r/siggen missing. Build did not complete successfully.
Am I missing a dependency? I'm installing this from source and using Debian Woody. THanks...
Ok, I managed to get a little further and copied everything in my 'src' path to '/bin/i686-pc-linux_r/'. Now a new problem arises, the installation seemed pretty good until this error showed up:
Creating key files...
./install.sh: /usr/sbin/twadmin: No such file or directory
Error: site key generation failed
I have tried making a 'twadmin' directory/file in that path and that doesn't work. Anyone have an idea? THanks...
I downloaded the latest version of tripwire from sourceforge.net. The problem was that when you extracted the tag, there were no files in the /'bin' directory which caused all of my problems. I then went to tripwire.org and downloaded their open source tarball which is named 'tripwire-2.3-47.bin.tar.gz'. After extracting this, files and directories were now seen in the '/bin'. Then everything worked as a charm as described in the README files.
//moderator.note: not a security related problem, even though the application is security related. Your problem is with installing stuff on Debian. Moved to Linux - Debian.
