Hi, i installed debain testing and when I switched to unstable there wasn't any problems, the other day i updated my packages via synaptic and after it was finished updating i rebooted and logged back in. I went to go play some mp3s and nothing came out, no sound but it was still running in xmms. I then checked kde's info center and checked to see if the sound card was able to be seen, it wasn't there anymore.
i looked in lsmod and it sees the audio but i just cant seem to get my sound back.
Did you upgrade your kernel? I just upgraded to SID and the 2.6.8 kernel and I lost my sound. There's a thread detailing ways you can get it back, but I don't have the link with me at the moment. I'll post it when I get back home...
Nah, i had 2.4.36 but i found out how to fix it, i had to boot into knoppix and i saw the audio driver was one that was in lsmod, so i did modconf, removed that mod and put it back in and now sound works
