save current setup on Etch

Under sarge the system gave an option to "save current setup" before logging out.

This option is not automatic under Etch and I cannot see anything obvious (to me) that does this job in the configuration options.

Can anyone make a suggestion?

Thank you for your help.

Try this. It might do what you want. Go to the menu at the top of the screen, go through Desktop>Preferences>Sessions then click the 'Session Options' tab. Click on 'Save the Current Session'.

KDE Control Center ("kcontrol") > KDE Components > Session Manager > check "On Login Restore Manually Saved Session" will put an option in your K Menu to "Save Session" (which seems to be the way it's done now). When you've got your desktop the way you want it, click Save Session, and the next time you log in, it'll be restored.

Thank you for your replies. I answered this some days ago from another machine but somehow, it did not go through. I must have pressed the wrong button.
