I have been forced to reinstall Windows xp i had a dual boot system with debian sarge and windows XP. as usual windows screw up and i had to reinstall it.
I couldn't access the original windows installation thus i installed it in another partition in order to preserve the data which was crucial at that moment. the problem i have now is when I start the PC, i have two options of operating system to choose: windows xp professional and windows xp professional, the first entry is the new install and the other is the corrupt one.
i don't know how to boot into debian again. if there's a way to reinstall grub i'll be very thankful.

I belive if you do a "reinstall grub" search on this forum, you will get zillions of threads with it.

boot with your cd go into rescue mode, use the command grub-install /dev/hdx. reboot.
