Re-running network setup - how?

Hi,

I finally managed to get my network card running (it wasn't detected during setup) but though I can now see it with ifconfig -a I still can't seem to use it.

During setup (woody) there was a section that asked for just a hostname as there was no net card detected. Now that I have the card driver module working, how do I re-run the network setup part of the install?

I saw netconfig mentioned somewhere, but typing netconfig gives me a no such file or directory error.

Thanks,

kiltie.

I'm making assumptions with debian...

Do the following "[b]/etc/init.d/network restart{/b]".

As root of course.

Thanks for trying, but no joy.

I've managed to get things running by typing ifconfig eth0 (my ip address) and then dhclient.

Any idea how I make these things happen automatically at boot?

Thanks.

Sussed it. Editing /etc/network/interfaces did the trick
