Problems with authentication setting up MythTV

I keep getting this message when trying to do anything that involves the backend for MythTV:
Quote:
Session management error: Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication failed
I do not understand the message at all. I am running Debian and had a little foray into Ubuntu. In Ubuntu I remember that I would get a similar message every time I ran sudo nautilus or sudo gedit.

What is this message and how do I resolve it?

This seems to be a MythTV problem, perhaps someone on the MythTV forums has an answer?
