Need help to understand


Hello
I try to learn debian, so i play with slable, testing and sid.
I installed the costum kernel 2.6.11-7 and it boot up fine, it start x and gdm/kdm but wen it
com's to kde 3.3.2 or 3.4.0 after desktop have loud 100 % it frees. and it is the same with gnome. The only way out is to kil it on the box.
Here is the funny thing yesterday i tryed sam other window managers, xfce4 and fluxbox.
With this 2 Wm i run 2.6.11 perfect.
So can anyone explane this for me

Have you tried a precompiled kernel from Debian as well just to make sure it's not the kernel?

Hello
I used synaptic to install the 2.6.11-7 kernel but no work
Sam problem as before.
But i will stick to xfce4, it is fast and cool.
