locked out of xebian by GDM

Some Background:
I am running the new xebian on my xbox, using gnome, and GDM as login manager.
As usual with a new distro, one can become excited and try all sorts of fun new things, and as usually happens when you carelessly fill up your home folder, eventually you get the message:
"cannot connect to home folder, authorization file,etc.."
Now, usually you can just log in as root or admin and clean out the home folder, but a "friend" for whatever reason set "typical" as default, so I am taken immediately to the "authorization" error, without mouse, controller, keyboard ability. I have locked the keys in the car so to speak...

Now my question:
Is there any way to access a terminal while xebian is loading, or to bypass GDM, or ANYTHING else I can do short of reinstalling xebian?

PLEASE and THANKYOU in advance!!

I dont know xbox or if you can boot a live cd like kanotix or not but if so do this;
boot live cd
in kde open "kanotix/root terminal"
one of the icons at bottom is root shell
type;
passwd
insert a passwd
now
mount /dev/hda /mnt/hda
chroot /mnt/hda
mount -t proc none /proc

now you are on the xbox hard drive with your install...navigate to proper directory and edit the proper files back to your login.

Hope that works.
if you can boot a live cd anyone will do...just make sure you can use root terminal to do the mounting and chrooting.

If you actually get to the GDM just press Ctrl-Alt-F1 and login from the terminal. You could also try Ctrl-C when gdm starts to load. That way it might stop loading: at least it is possible to stop dhcp client that way.

live won't boot

Hey, thanks for replying guys..

I have a really old xbox that doesn't play CD-R's, and I have no CD-RW's..
Also I get no keyboard priviledge so I can't call terminal (good to know tho!)

I do, however, have DamnSmallLinux and Gentoox installed as well.
Can I use IronWalkers idea through DSL?

Thanks Again..
