kernel 2.6


is there a way to install debian directly with the 2.6 kernel? or i've to upgrade from 2.4? for the 2.4 i remember there was a bf24 boot option, there's a bf26 one too?

you have to upgrade from 2.4 to 2.6.

I believe the newest beta of the dabian-installer has a kernel 2.6 option that would allow you to install 2.6.x from the get-go.

I couldn't swear to that fact tho as I haven't actually used the newest version of it.

debian-installer - beta4 - daily builds

linux26 or expert26

take care, the sarge images with beta4 do not do any detection/confg for ethernet

It configured my ethernet with linux26... broadcom 4400 10/100

there are two (actually, more than two) sets of installer cds...

the full ones with sarge and beta4 of the installer do not do any network detection...

I happend to know this as I am participating in the debian installer project...
