You are saying I'm a liar? BTW, I work in gambling industry. Slot machines run Linux, they have touchscreens. Have had for at least 15 years ... this is how far back goes Linux touchscreen support.
Chances are, if you're not getting touchscreen/tablet support, it might be because it's an older USB-Serial device, do you have a /dev/ttyS0 device? If so, you might need to use the inputattach utility.
Generally Linux Wacom driver support should work if it's a Wacom-compatible device. xsetwacom --list devices should show it
