how to change mirror sites for package download?

when I want to download some packages from website, it said
----------------
W: Failed to fetch ftp://linux.csua.berkeley.edu/debian...501-2_i386.deb
Unable to fetch file, server said 'Failed to open file. '
-------------------
How can I change the mirror sites?

Debian's download mirrors/repositories for packages are set in /etc/apt/sources.list and you can edit this file with any text editor. Some help and the full mirror list can be found here: http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/ap...basico.en.html

If you still have the "base-config" package installed, you can run the "apt-setup" utility that will help you to choose a mirror to be added to sources.list. Unfortunately Debian's installer doesn't use "base-config" anymore and so it has been removed (along with "apt-setup") from Debian testing and unstable.

I've not tested but this can also be a solution for automatically generating a sources.list:

# netselect-apt unstable

Run it from /tmp or someplace out of the way. It will go out and randomly select 207 mirrors, test the speed from your web connection, and write you out a little sources.list file with the two fastest. I ran it 3 times, with 3 different winners, but only 1 mirror showed up in the top 2 every time. That's the one that is now in my sources.list.
