YOu need an unofficial apt-source, or need to do some apt pnning. I'm not an expert on either of these, so this might be a problem. Best bet really is just to move up to the testing release, unless this is one of those machines that cant have <i> any </i> downtime (Eg, work comp/server)
kde 3.2 is in unstable, and i think also testing now.
if you have testing in your apt sources, you should be able to upgrade using a tool like aptitude.
Do you have testing or unstable as your default in your apt preferences?
well since we are on kde3.2
i hate it compared to 3.1.5 UNLESS someone can point me to finding how to get it to install the icons for the applications i install via apt-get
gnome and twm get it right
somewhere it posted to try "update-menus"
that didnt work, tried from terminal rather than run command and got errors:
i8250d:~# update-menus
Unknown error, message=replacewith($string, $replace, $with): $replace and $with must have the same length.
install-menu: /etc/menu-methods/freedesktop-desktop-entry-spec-dirs: aborting
update-menus[5182]: Script /etc/menu-methods/freedesktop-desktop-entry-spec-dirs returned error status 1.

install-menu: /etc/menu-methods/freedesktop-desktop-entry-spec-apps: aborting

anyway please help, it'll make 3.2 a lil easier to live with...didnt get mozilla firestarter bzflag gkrellm xmms although it did get xine-ui (hey the d5d rpm plugin didnt work using alien)
Are you running Unstable? Perhaps there is a problem with the update-menu script that comes with kde 3.2. check for bug reports in debina (Unless you used an unofficial source... then complain to them.
Let me know how that works.... I'm running unstable right now, but upgrading things like pam scare me, so perhaps testing is for me, with a couple unstable pinned things.
