Getting my IBM A31 buttons to work
Hello all! I am currently running an IBM Thinkpad A31 and was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on getting my special keyboard buttons working.
KDE control center instructs:
Could not read /dev/nvram. If you have an IBM Thinkpad load the nvram Linux module [insmod nvram] and create the node [mknod /dev/nvram c 10 144] then make the device readable [chmod 664 /dev/nvram] or writable [chmod 666 /dev/nvram].
Okay, I tried to insmod nvram but it either says "no such file or directory", or, if I'm in /dev, it says "error inserting 'nvram': -1 Invalid module format
"
I try to "mknod /dev/nvram c 10 144" and it says "file exists."
only thing I can do is the chmod. Grr. Anyone have any tips/tricks?
