Errors updating from mirror

The past couple days, I've been trying to update from various mirrors and I can't seem to complete it. I can on another Debian machine, but it is configured differently. I can't seem to figure out what the problem is. I want to get the ATI/AMD proprietary GPU drivers installed but I'm not having much luck with that either.

ugh..... I swear I tried that and it didn't work... still won't install fglrx-drivers though.

I think that testing-updates is your problem. There are no testing updates.
Post your /etc/apt/sources.list

I switched it to rit.edu and it seems to be working properly. I still can't seem to get the ATI proprietary drivers to install properly, hence the snapshot reference.

You may as well comment out testing-updates, there is no testing-updates it's only for stable & wheezy.

Where are you trying to install it from? Eg output of

That is right.

There is a version 1:14.4.2-1 0 is the sid repo and 1:14.6~betav1.0-1 0 in experimental.

Have no idea how they work. Have had better performance from the foss drivers for at least 3 years now.

I want to do GPU crunching with BOINC. And for that I need the proprietary drivers, right?

No, I don't think so. Have you tried to just let your package manager sort it out? Eg

There are special instructions needed to offload the crunching to the gpu. If you blindly install and run boinc, the cpu will probably do all the work.

These special instructions are "OpenCL" or "ATI Stream". I think these are only supported in the proprietary driver, if this has not changed recently. The Berkeley Website on BOINC links only to the amd website.

I have a Slackware system that GPU crunches with an AMD card using the Proprietary Driver. I have a Debian system that GPU crunches with an Nvidia card using the Proprietary Driver. I have this Debain system that I am trying to get GPU crunching with an ATI card using the Proprietary Driver. The problem is it isn't int the testing repos like a good little driver should be.
