Hello Friends....
I am new to linux and I installed Debian Linux on my system.

Woody?

*******************
My system is booting at prompt not in graphical mod. I have Intel P4 with ViewSonic E71 monitor and have Radeon 7500 graphic card...

Google for the vertical and horizontal frequencies of your monitor, and the module for your video card.

*************************

but I don't know which driver I have to select during configuration or how I configure this....

Google for the driver...

Read this for the configuration of X:

The Very Verbose Debian 3.0 Installation Walkthrough

If I recall correctly, the name of the driver for radeon 7500 is called "ati".

First, check this out:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/sh...hp?product=365

Then use the "search" link on the upper part of this page; select Search forum "Debian" and type "radeon 7500" as search words.

This should give you some starters to choose the relevant driver. (As a temporary solution you can always try the "vesa" driver that works with most graphics cards.) To find out the refresh rates for your monitor, a google search might produce best results.

After you've decided which driver and refresh rates are best for your hardware, do "dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86" again.

Yes it is. I have a Radeon 7500 Mobility card in my laptop and I use the "ati" driver.
