I install bare minimum Debian today, but just got completed confused as to what packages to download for XServer.
I used apt-get and downloaded several like Xserver-free86 base, XFS, Xserver-Client.
However, still couldnt get it to work, kept receiving a message: Unable to find font 'fixed'.
Is there a guide around as to what apt packages to download and install?

I do not see any mention of the xfont packages being installed by you.

I downloaded the fonts server and am now receiving another error message:
could not init font path element unix/7100, removing from list!
Anyone know what this mean?
That one should be nothing to worry about it just means that you are not running a Unix font server on the network. If you want to get rid of the warning then edit the file /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 and put a # character at the front of the line with the unix 7100 in it to comment it out and then next time you start the xserver it will not happen. Here is the list of what I have installed.
