I have tried the debian installer twice. But, I failed twice to installed debian.
I downloaded twice debian installer from "http://people.debian.org/~manty/testing/netinst/i386/daily/". Once 120 mb and yesterday 107 mb. Everytime I checked the md5sum and burnt the iso images.
But I am getting stuck while installing extra packages at 66%. I think, it tries to install pakcages from net and I can make out from the blinking light of modem.
But, the installation manual says, it is possible to install the base system without the internet connection and without downloading any extra packages.
I don't understant, if I am doing somthing wrong.
Thanks
I'm not sure. This Debian forum though doesn't get that much activity. If you still have this problem (after a month of no replies - wow!), then repost this at http://www.debianhelp.org . That site gets a lot more activity.
I recommend trying Debian-Anaconda installer. It is still in alpha stage, but I think it is easier to get up and running than with the current Debian installer. You can download debian-anaconda iso's here:
