can't startx

Hey,

Just installed debian on an old laptop and got a bit messed up at the package selection stage (used apt-get through http).

Anyways, i just did an apt-get of all the files I thought I needed, but then I got into a program which allowed me to get packages customized to my using purposes. Then, I got, I THINK, all the packages I needed.

However, when I startx, i get an error explaining that it could not open the default font 'fixed'.

?

I can't begin to guess what this means. All help is appreciated!

You can manually open your XF86Config file with a text editor (nano, vi, pico) and make sure the line for that font is not commented out.
