Hi,
I have an interesting problem that I could not find answers to at the apt howto or anywhere on the net. I am switching to debian from redhat and decided to try woody. I got the base installed and many other things working including my wireless internet Ricochet. I was very impressed that debian handled the pcmcia modem right off the bat with a vanilla install kernel. But here is the problem, when I ran dselect and tried to update the packages file it would kill the ppp connection. So I went and got Wvdial and pppd and updated those. Then I connected, pinged google and was fine, until I ran apt-get for an update. When it connected with
http://www.us.debian.org the ping died. I can not figure out why though. It is like apt-get is killing the connection. Does anyone have any ideas??
Thank you,
