Angry apt-get dist-upgrade woes (testing - etch)

Recently I had to reinstall Debian as a result of an unfortunate accident and so I had a fairly outdated system. So I decided to apt-get dist-upgrade it.

I have downloaded almost 470 MB of data overnight and finally apt-get dist-upgrade keeps leaving me high and dry because of three measly packages:

This is the error I get

Because of these few packages, I am unable to do a dist-upgrade now!
Code:
Failed to fetch http://mirror.pacific.net.au/debian/....6.4-3_all.deb MD5Sum mismatch
Failed to fetch http://mirror.pacific.net.au/debian/...8.4-4_i386.deb MD5Sum mismatch
Failed to fetch http://mirror.pacific.net.au/debian/...-11.4_i386.deb MD5Sum mismatch
Failed to fetch http://mirror.pacific.net.au/debian/...0430-1_all.deb MD5Sum mismatch
E: Unable to fetch some archives, maybe run apt-get update or try with --fix-missing?
I don't want to erase the package cache of already downloaded files because I cannot afford to download 470 MB all over again. I just want to dist-upgrade.

I have tried several times to apt-get update and dist-upgrade, but these packages continue to get downloaded and give the same error.

How do I dist-upgrade omitting these packages and without having to clear my package cache?

Regards.

Edit: whoops wrong forum and reported to be moved.

or you may want to delete the problematic packages libgtk2.0-common, libgnomevfs2-0, lesstif1, and foomatic-filters-ppds from /var/cache/apt/archives or /var/cache/apt/archives/partial so that they will be redownloaded when u do apt-get dist-upgrade.

This didn't work.

However, I changed the mirror and did an apt-get update and then did an apt-get dist-upgrade and then it worked.

Thanks and Regards.

The problem was that though it got downloaded again and again each time, this refused to work because probably these packages were probably corrupt on that particular mirror.

It worked only after I changed the mirror. Strange problem..
