access to remote mysql server

Hi,
I installed mysql, locally on the same machine, i use it, via teminal or thru apache/php.
The problem is when I try to access from a remote machine, the following command fails:
mysql -h 192.168.10.10 -u root -p

Where 192.168.10.10 is the address of the server running mysql.
thanks for help
best regards
bela

What is failing? My guess is you don't have root@yourhostip in the mysql user table on the server.

HTH
