removing cd from drive

right i try to remove a cd from the drive but when i press the button on the cdrom it wont let me and ive tried to remove the automount file from /mnt/auto. the only way i can remove the cd is if i restart the machine which to me seem like a waste of time so they has to be an easier way to do this. i know to you people it will be a easy answer but i'm new to dsl and open source software.

th verison of dsl is i think 2.4.26 on i686 well that what it says in right hnad corner of the screen with the other stats

right i've tried to select the unmount with the right click but it say's that i must be a superuser to unmount cdrom.

so iknow where to go to become superuser but what command do i type when i comes up with 'enter commnad' ?

From within Linux, you generally have an "unmount" or "eject" command in the GUI menu when right-clicking on an icon for removeable media.

In DSL, what Desktop are you using? eg KDE, XFCE, GNOME, etc.

also, you can go to a terminal and find where the CD is mounted---/media on my systems, but could be /mnt. Simply type "umount cdrom" (substitute the actual mount point name for "cdrom" and then the CD will eject by proessing the button
