Obsession with Linux? not me!
My wife has her own laptop. She uses that other operating system we all hear about! We have two desks side by side with a laptop each, and I also have a desktop computer, mainly because I use the two dvd drives a lot, plus I don't really like laptops, it's there to surf with.
We don't have wireless, I don't see the need, as we only use this room for the computers, there's no need to take them anywhere. As I said I use Linux and she uses that other ... What gets me is the fact that she says I'm obsessed with Linux! I mean, I wonder why? When she's sat there trying to get "word" to put the address in the right place, and saying something like "Oh heck! what does this mean?" "Comodo firewall has detected an attempt to access blah blah blah" "What do I do?" I get up out of my chair have a look "It's nothing tell it to block it if you aren't sure about things". Sits down "Oh heck! what does this mean? MSN has detected you are using an old version, and you need to upgrade!" "Tell it to bog off". Tries to continue reading my email! "Oh heck it won't let me close this box without letting it upgrade it?" "click the x at the top right hand!" "Oh I've clicked ok instead by mistake" "Oh well I'll let it do it now!" "Oh I didn't realize it was going to take this long to download it?" "It's done it! Now Comodo is asking me if I should allow *&^%soft to install an unknown program?" "Yes!!" " It says something is trying to write to my registry? What do I say?" (under my breath) "Tell it to go *()&@~ itself" " What?" "Nothing my dear, just say yes"
"It's asking me now if it's alright to reboot?" "Looks like you will have to then doesn't it?" (Tries to read this same sentence for the 13th time) "Oh Comodo is asking me if MSN can connect to the internet?" "Yes" "Oh Comodo says are you sure?" (before I can answer) "because it's warning me about third party software being dangerous" "yes!!". "Oh Comodo is telling me there is a newer version and do I want it to upgrade?" "No!" "Too late it say's it has already downloaded it, and do I want it to install?" Then just before I say you might as well let it, she says "Hey I bet it was doing that earlier when I asked you to check my laptop to see why it was running slow" "Looks like you were wasting your time checking everything out!". "Anyway I haven't got all day to sit here talking I've to get this done, and I am not getting very far because of this Comodo ... thing!". I then ask "Do you want to use "Lyx" on my laptop?" "No; I don't know what you see in that Linux, it's boring! You don't seem to be on the internet two minutes!" (*&^%@:~) That's me under my breath again!
