Well I tried
I posted earlier that the frame round Firefox had disappeared. It's very strange because it hasn't happened with Nautilus or any other application window? I installed Opera (didn't keep it long), but the frame was there. Seamonkey was OK as well. I removed Kmess but this didn't rectify the problem. After scratching my head and deciding to re-install Firefox (which didn't work either), I said to myself (I talk to myself now and then, I'm not mad though it's him that's the looney one), why are you messing around precious? take the easy route; use the disk image! So I did, and 15 mins later I was up and running back to normal, thank God for Ping!
While out today, I called in the paper shop to look at some mags (where I could get in to see the mags, for those people that treat the shop like a library, read the mag and throw it back). Linux Magazine was there at £5.00 with a Suse Enterprise Desktop 11 DVD inside. I read somewhere that if you install this, you have to agree to SIX! yes SIX licences. It's like going back to Windows!!! I don't want Suse as it hasn't any multimedia capabilities, if it was OpenSuse that would be different. Anyway at the side of this magazine was a new one to me "Ubuntu User", this thin magazine came with the latest Ubuntu download. I had a quick shufty but couldn't see any article that would make me shell out £7.99!! If I was an MP it wouldn't have been so bad because I could have put it on my expenses, in fact if I had been an MP I could have sent my faithful butler "Jives" to call in and get it for me! But, I'm just Uinseann nobody taxed to the hilt and downtrodden by every government whoever they are, from birth!! No! I couldn't pay that so I went next door and bought "The Grudge 3" for a fiver instead!

This happens occasionally with my Firefox in Ubuntu 8.10.
Just press the "F11" key to reinstate the border.Posted 05-22-2009 at 09:13 AM by beachboy2 -
Thanks for that! I think I can live with Ubuntu if all I need to do is press F11.
