That's what I'm in the process of doing and here's a list of the things I want to achieve:
- Not forget any birthday any more
- Have a central place for storage of all contact information
- Be able to print out said contact information
- Take advantage of the services in the cloud without losing that information on the desktop
- Have a reminder for my google calendar entries
- One of my computers being quite old (with only 512 MB RAM) the solutions should not be too resource hungry
So far I've come across a set of applications that might solve this problem.
- GBirthday 0.6.4
- Orage 4.8.1
- Thunderbird 3.1.9 (for its addressbook)
- Contacts 0.9
- Rubrica 2.0
- KAddressBook 4.4.10
