Posted 08-09-2015 at 03:19 AM by m3rl1n

I assume that - at least once in your 'working' life, you've felt that your job wasn't satisfying you. Working in Hi-Tech - the last 29 years have been reasonably interesting, but lately I felt that whatever I sought to do, wasn't doing it for me. Now I think I might have found what I was destined to do: Ethical Hacking!

My personal roadmap to becoming a savvy computergeek in many area's of computer technologies started when I was only 16. I was seriously interested in how computers...

Small Steps

Posted 11-22-2014 at 03:36 PM by m3rl1n

It has been a long time, since... well.
OK I am addicted. I started with Linux a while ago, and I can't live without it. I threw myself recently into server management Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, Apache style And I spawned myself as a newbie Android programmer - lucky me I have a PhP/Java & SQL background and some years of C/C++, that really helped. I find more and more MS victims willing to try a Linux distro, but keep asking myself why MS is still around - it is annoying - like IOS he heh......

Kubuntu made me wonder how long -- until the planet encompasses Linux, looking back at an era of hampered computing due Billy's brain fart (MS). I have been spreading Linux in my neighborhood, better and faster than any flu-virus. People love it,...

Since my last blog entry I have improved my Linux OS skills dramatically. I am happy to say: I am comfortable with Linux now.

My Programming efforts:
I discovered a serious lack of support and documentation for ORB (any ORB), and its implementation in a GUI Linux/Windows/Mac environment. On console applications them ORBS thrive well, but writing a X-Window Application with a toolkit (e.g. QT4) is a true disaster - them ORBs turn into ORCs!

Slowly getting it...

Posted 11-22-2011 at 04:12 AM by m3rl1n

Since my last blog entry - in which I mentioned that I would start learning about Distributed Technologies, I have been going through many AHA! moments that Sigmund Freud so nicely described. In my quest for getting savvy on Distributed Object Programming I found that CORBA is the only way to go. It is well known as a complex mess of incomprehensible matter in many communities. I shared that vision since last week, now I think it is quite doable.

The secret to learning CORBA is to...
