Eclipse makes you lazy

Posted 03-11-2013 at 08:02 PM by jmajor

So! Many blue moons! (see my other post). My son is now almost 5 and this is my second post.

I have moved from C to Java as my primary programming language. After using Eclipse for some time I had to modify some of my old C code. I opened Kate and started looking around. I kept pressing F3 and not finding what I expected. Yes that's the same F3 I kept swearing about when it wouldn't repeat my previous search.

Now browsing my old code to find what a called function does, remembering the name / parameters / exact spelling of a function I know I wrote, or looking at the members of a structure is now hair tearing stuff. What happened? I used to do this stuff every day.

Eclipse makes you lazy! Good or bad? Hard to say.
