Non-clairvoyent Dapper

Seems Dapper, or at least the current incantation on gpilotd can't read usb palms (got a new one for my wife for her B-Day). Luckily, palm users abound, and many people have been squacking about the situation. There is currently a work around to the problem posted by qball on ubuntu fourms which is to issue the following on the command line:

sudo mount -t usbfs none /proc/bus/usb/

Seems the problem is that gpilotd is looking for info in /proc/bus/usb/devices and things don't live there anymore in Dapper. (broke my usbview too :| )

I hope this info helps others that might be having the same problem. Many thanks to qball and to ubuntu fourms. The full thread can be read here:
