Broken KMS in arch 2.6.36 ?

Yesterday I reformatted 2 computers (Arch --> Arch after broken update). I used the 2010.05 i686 core cd and then Syu'd

After the upgrade (most notably - kernel 2.6.36) both have weird issues related to KMS

Box 1 : Intel 865 chipset + Ati radeon 9250
Immediately after install from cd, it booted the kernel and beginning of init with low framebuffer resulotion, then switched to high framebuffer resolution when init got to "Loading Udev uevents"

Immediately after Syu and reboot, it begins to boot as normal, then in the moment it should switch resolution just hangs with blank screen (I know it has hanged and not just no display because if i hit Alt Ctl Del a while later it does not reboot)

Now works after adding "nomodeset" to the kernel line in grub (framebuffer remains on low resolution, X works ok)

Box 2 : Intel 915G chipset w/ Intel graphics 915
Immediately after install from cd, it booted the kernel and beginning of init with low framebuffer resulotion, then switched to high framebuffer resolution when init got to "Loading Udev uevents"

Immediately after Syu and reboot, it still worked perfectly ok, even with full framebuffer resolution and working compositing in X

After second reboot, It loads ok up to KDM. If i login in KDM it begins to load KDE4, and after a while (when the 4th icon on KDE's splash is appearing) gets kernel panic (screen freezes showing the kde splash, keyboard leds caps and scroll are flashing)

If i add "nomodeset" then instead of kernel panic KDE crashes with "got sighup", "no screens found"

If i remove "nomodeset", then the kernel panic again

Same happens in both cases when i try KDM or when i disable KDM and run startx from my user

Any solutions ?

Confirmed this is the kernel. If i install 2.6.33 (+ headers + firmware packages) everything works again
