Hi all,

I am trying to export my AIX 5.3.4 Display on my Ubuntu box but its not working for some reason..

Here is what i do:

malarie: Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn

user@malarie# xhost +
user@malarie# telnet cervino
connected!
root@cervino# export DISPLAY=malarie:0.0
root@cervino# xclock
...(5 second waiting time)...
Error: Can't open display: 192.168.10.83:0
root@cervino

This entry is in my /etc/hosts file: 192.168.10.83 malarie

What happens if you do the following (sorry, don't have telnet installed)?
user@malarie: ssh -X cervino
user@cervino: xclock

Shouldn't you be running the 'xhosts +' on the AIX box to allow the display export, rather than on the Ubuntu machine?
