AIX 5.2 cannot connect to NIS server on RHEL5
Hi.
I have set up an NIS server on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. It just replaced our old NIS server running on Red Hat 8. The RHEL5 machine has both the firewall and SELinux disabled.
Now I cannot get our AIX 5.2 machine to use the NIS on RHEL5 anymore. We swapped the hostname and IP address, so theoretically any NIS client, including this AIX machine, should use the new NIS server after the reboot. In fact, several UNIX machines we have, such as Solaris 9 and 10, work fine.
It's not the case with AIX 5.2. I restarted ypbind and keysrv, but to no avail. Is there anything special that I need to do on the NIS server side to accommodate the NIS request from non-Linux machines? I cannot see any obvious difference between the two (new and old) configurations.
Any help would be appreciated.
