setting up printer problem

Iam having trouble setting up printer in freeBSD. I have followed the instructions in freeBSD handbook. Everything is doing fine until the section to test the printer by printing using command

lptest > /dev/lpt0

the log file (/var/log/messages) produces message like this :

Jan 15 23:23:53 ceberus kernel: Interrupt storm detected on "irq7: lpt0"; throttling interrupt source
Jan 15 23:25:50 ceberus kernel: stray irq7
Jan 15 23:25:50 ceberus last message repeated 3 times
Jan 15 23:25:50 ceberus kernel: too many stray irq 7's: not logging anymore

my printer wasn't responding, or even feed the paper. I have no idea, where the problem is?
Iam using freeBSD 5.4, and using polled mode for the communication mode. My printer is canon bjc-2100SP and connected using paralel port

Install cups from ports the open a browser and go to 127.0.0.1:631 and set it up.
Also /bin/lpr is the normal but cups installs its own in /usr/local/bin so do: chmod -x /usr/bin/lp* so you use the cups lpr command.

Also, make sure the paralell port is set in the BIOS.
